Koru art

WALT: Use symbols (to represent something special to us)
We used the koru symbol to represent different people that are special to us.
What we did
  1. We practiced drawing different shapes of koru's
  2. We planned how our art was going to look.
  3. We had to explain our art to our buddy
  4. We used chalk pastel to outline the koru
  5. Then we used oil pastels to colour in the koru patterns.
  6. We made sure all the 'mouse holes' were filled in.
  7. We filled the outline with white pastel
  8. Lastly, we did a dye wash in black.
  9. We used a tissue to wipe off the dye puddles
My challenges
colouring mouse holes ( there were heaps )

Ebony says: You did a fantastic job on your art Phoebe. I like how you focussed on the size and placement of your koru to represent the different people in your family. Well done!
